This coffee hails from the Muyinga Province, one of Burundi's most remote regions. The name Hafi, which translates to "close" in Kirundi, celebrates the incredible difference that proximity can have on quality. Before this washing station opened, small farmers had to endure a 20 kilometer journey through treacherous terrain to get their coffees processed. Now, a community of around 2000 farmers works together to produce some of the most interesting coffees their country has to offer.
